Our bulk wholesale roses/ fresh flowers arrive to you within 48 hr. of being cut at the farm. The flowers arrive just like a flower shop would receive them and need a little care and handling. The fresh roses/ flowers arrive in a semi-close stage, we suggest you schedule delivery 48 hr. before the event.  This allows time for the roses/ flowers to bloom.

Have the following items ready:  sharp knife and a few empty containers.  Buckets or small bins work best.

  1. Start by filling the containers to the desired level with cool water and add the flower food packets included in your order.

  2. Remove bundles from box, cut the rubber band at the bottom of the stem.  Keep the protective wrap around the rose blooms.  This will insure the rose necks don’t bend over while the roses hydrate in water.

  3. Using a knife, remove the leaves and thorns that will sit below the water line.  Leaves left below the water line will create bacteria, bad smell and shorted the life of fresh flowers.

  4. Fill the sink with water and while under water diagonally cut 1” off the stems.  Place flower bundle in water container immediately to prevent air pockets.

  5. Allow your flower/ roses a minimum of fours to hydrate before removing the bloom wrappers.

  6. After removing the wrap, you may need to remove the first couple of petals.  These petals are called “Guard Petals” and may appear dark tip or discolored.  These petals are left on by the farmer to protect the inner rose.

  7. If  preperations needs to be prolong, place a couple of ice packs inside the box and tape the seams to insulate it.  Keep box in a cool place.

Important notice for all fresh flowers:  Keep all Fresh flowers away from direct sunlight, heat and drafts.  Change the water and re-cut the stems following the above instructions every 2-3 days to prolong the life of  fresh flowers.  Adding a teaspoon of sugar to the water may be use in place of flower food.

Fresh Rose Petal Tips:  To keep petals fresh for a few days, place rose petal bags in the refrigerator crisper. If using fresh petals for out door decor, keep in mind fresh petals will begin to wilt after a while in direct sunlight.  If using fresh petals in out doors decoration, try to decorate at the last possible moment. Note:  Fresh Petals are not meant for human consumption.  If using to decorate cakes, remove petals from any food decoration before serving your guest.

Helpful Tips: If removing flowers from a water source i.e. transferring from one container to another, the stems may dry up and seal quicky preventing water intake once place in a new water source.  It’s important to re-cut stems when ever flowers have been left out of water for more than a few minutes or in the case of resale, always remind your customers to re-cut stems before placing flowers in water.  If storing flowers in refrigeration, keep at 35 F for best results.  During winter month, don't keep fresh flowers in a heated room.  A cool room or garage works best.  Never keep fresh flowers below 35 F.
