Rose Care & Tips
Roses take approximately 12 to 48 hours to bloom. Keep this in mind and plan accordingly.

You will need the following items: A sharp knife or hand pruners and a few clean empty containers.

When you are ready to start working on your Roses, start by preparing containers by filling them with room temperature water. Pour in and mix the enclosed floral food packets provided with your flower order. The floral food will increase the life of fresh flowers.

Open the box and begin by removing the Rose bunches. Note: Don't remove the plastic wrappers protecting the flower buds at this time. Keep in mind that each bunch has 25 Roses wrapped in two layers.

Remove the leaves that will sit below the water line. You could measure how much to remove by standing the rose bunch next to the container.

Cut each stem (*under water) "diagonally" about one to two inches from the bottom. Cutting the stems diagonally allows the stem not to rest flat on the bottom of the container and block the water intake. *Cutting the stems under water prevents air from blocking the flow of water to the head of the bud. Place the Roses in the water containers immediately after cutting them.

Remove any left over leaves that fall below the water line to prevent bacteria & dirty water odor from forming.

Roses are thirsty upon arrival and need to drink to firm up. The plastic wrappers should be kept on while the flowers are hydrating to keep the rose necks from bending over. Hydration takes anywhere between two to six hours.

Ideally, you should allow your flowers a minimum of two four hydration before you start arranging them.
Please note: You may need to depetal the first couple of petals from the roses (only if they appear bruise or faded), these petals are called "guard petals". They are left on by the farm in order to protect the inner Rose during packaging and shipping.

Final Tips: Always keep roses away from direct sunlight and heat source (top of TV, kitchen, etc.). Change the water and cut stems approximately every 2-3 days.
